older ones good for the money. newer ones not so good since company changed hands. should be ok on light kicking rifles, say up to about 6mm!

A buddy had one of the 6-18 Atecs on his Ruger .17 HMR.  It lasted a couple of years.  Groups gradually went to pot, he fiddled with beding awhile and I kept telling him to put one of my spare scopes on it.  He finally did.  Then he got a new scope and uses the Atec for a telescope around the farm.

I used to own one.  It cost me a very nice buck when the horizontal recticle wire became "jiggly".  It didn't come completely loose, it just moved around alot.  This was a 90's vintage model.  Several people told me after the fact that these scopes don't stand up to "magnum" recoil - it was mounted on a 7mm Rem Mag.  Whether this is a fair statement or not, I have zero confidence in these scopes due to my experience.  I haven't heard anything good about the redesigned model that came out while Meade owned the Simmons name.Boo Hoo This
