just wondering whats the best way to put bases on your rifle? i've heard about putting a thin layer of oil or even car wax paste underneath them... i know to loc-tite the screws but what else? whats everyones favourite method?

We usually degrease them prior to installation and don't put anything underneath them.  We never use loc tite unless a gun has shook the screws loose first (hardly ever happens).  Lapping the rings and using quality rings and bases is most important.
