A few quick questions regarding the Z6. If yall would be so kind

!)how would the z6 2-10x50 be for night time hunting?

2)what is the warrenty like for this scope, there seems to be mixed reviews about this online.

3) How does this scope rate as far as durability? Is it made of any plastic or have any major problems anyone has noticed?

4) from the guys who own one - what is your review of the scope? Likes/Dislikes? what do you think of it so far?

Swarovski is one of most recognizable names in sporting optics, they are a premier company with premium products.  The z6 line of scopes will be at or near the top of the list in all areas you are concerened about.  I would not be affraid to suggest swarovski to anyone.  Top notch company with fantastic optics.

after 500 rds, over an AR10 and 500 over a cooper
the rear euro focus wobbles , whether this affects the scopes accuracy, ?? (theoretically no as the lens focus on the reticle and the target image at the same time) but is certainly disconcerting. the turrets are made of plastic, and they do not have markers completely around the circumference, they pull up to reset to zero, and after maybe 25 to 30 resets seem to work well, (although not as positive as Zeisses).
this scope is worth the time and trouble simply because of the utility it offers in the low mag range, without any (at least what I can tell) distortion or hickups going to the max. while it does have a nice high end 12x,
the scope is big, same size as a tactical 3.5 x15 nf, but amazingly light, (while I sure its the same wt. as other scopes in its class ) the scope "reachs into the shadows" at sundown, but is really bright in early morning with the sun over the shoulder, (almost to much) as it will wash fine lines on black targets rings. (obviously not a hunting problem, just giving an observation).
use a christmas tree reticle , tds and with swaros on line program gives whole range readings at about 10.5x, with the 6.xx284 cooper it sets on. -- 600 yds is almost embarrasing.

A few quick questions regarding the Z6. If yall would be so kind

!)how would the z6 2-10x50 be for night time hunting? I haven't used mine for night hunting because it's illegal here but I have tested it up to the very last sliver of light and in the early morning before the sun rises over the hills, I can't imagine any scope in it's class beating it by a very detectable margin.

2)what is the warrenty like for this scope, there seems to be mixed reviews about this online. If your the original owner, lifetime on the optics, ten years on the rest of the parts. This is the same warranty as with all of their other products except illumination. IMHO, SONA has probably the best customer service out there, fast and efficient, even better than Leupold.

3) How does this scope rate as far as durability? Is it made of any plastic or have any major problems anyone has noticed? I use mine for hunting and I find it as tough as my old vari-xIII Leupolds. I fell hard on mine this year and came away with only a very small scratch on the edge of one of the caps. I thought I scratched the hell out of the surface around the front bell until I wiped it down back at camp, poof, looked good as new. I tested it later that day at our range for piece of mind, still shot 2" above center at 100 yards. The turrets may be plastic, I don't know for sure I haven't disassembled mine; I thought the caps where until I fell on my scope and nicked the edge of one, nope, some sort of light weight metal. I hear the top shelf Zeiss has some plastic as well (I never thought to check) but it and the z6 are rated probably the best in it's class so I guess it really doesn't matter. As for major problems, zero so far, two years, about 100 rounds of 7mm at the range and hunting.

4) from the guys who own one - what is your review of the scope? Likes/Dislikes? what do you think of it so far? The scope is outstanding. The FOV is excellent, the 2-12 range is all-around killer for up close and far away, the focus is silky smooth, optics are crisp and bright, bold 4a reticle, etc., etc. My dislike is the price of any of these high end Euro scopes (Swaro, Zeiss, S&B, Kahles, etc.) but like I told you on your other post, there are some great z6 deals right now on the "sample list". What do I think so far, I have two now.

As usual very nice and honest review Dale!! Thunbs%20Up

You got about 8 more years before you have to send her back to get the rear focus wobble fixed. Wink

thanks for the help. thats exactly the type of stuff I was looking for. I've got it narrowed down to either a zeiss victory diavari or a swarovski z6. just having trouble deciding between the two. Going on a .300 WSM.
