hey there everyone!
 
i was looking at getting a sps varmint in a .308!   i was looking at doing some bench shooting and deer hunting cheap!@
 
whats everyone think of these?
 
also what type of scope do u think i should get? i wass thinking a 3x9 variable powered!

They are nice rifles. The 3-9x will be a good fit for sure. Now what did you have in mind budget wise?

I hear these are good shooting rifles. As far as the scope a 3x9x40 is my favorite all around scope.

....................It`s a good rifle for the bench and for varmit hunting. But at 8 1/2 lbs (wt. specs on the Remy site) + scope, rings and sling, you`ll be up close to 10 lbs if not more in total rifle weight.
 
Hunting from a stand and doing a little hiking here and there is ok. Otherwise, you`re asking for it, should you decide to hunt where long hiking over some steeper terrain is needed. Regardless of your physical capabilities and depending on your hunting conditions, an extra 2 lbs or so in rifle weight, will make a big difference.
