I have a Remington 742 Woodsmaster Carbine. My old scope is acting up and I want to replace it with something good for low light shooting. Part of my job is deer management and we shoot a lot @ night. I have a limited budget. Can anyone recommend a good bargain scope?

Common sense. Too bad it's not.

This is probably about the best scope available for $200.

You might consider the weaver v3 1-3X20,  it's a darling of a scope for a carbine, not a power-house, but pretty good optics, low price ($150.00), super wide field of view and perfect for shots to 150yrds or so.

Not that I have any experience shooting at night at deer...but where the light is positioned in relation to where you are makes all the difference...with that taken into consideration.  Go with the team primos.

No arguments with the Nikon Primos, but here are three more scopes that could be considered. The reticles on the Burris and the Bushnell might be advantageous at night.

Burris 2-7x35 Fullfield II Rifle Scope German 3P#4

Bushnell 1.5-4.5x32 Elite 3200 Rifle Scope

  • Fire Fly
  • Rainguard
  • Free Flash Light and Jacket

Sightron 4x32 SII Riflescope
