To my knowledge only Nikon and Leupold are offering gloss finished scopes.  So I had this Leupold made for a polished blue Remington 700.  I splurged on 24K Gold Plating on the ring and Medallion for fun.  So I guess I'm 'married' to the scope.

Here's some pictures next to a matte Leupold:

SORRY ABOUT THE PICTURE SIZE.

One more.  I was looking for an 'old school' look.  It might be too rich for some.

I agree.  Here's the rifle and scope.  I like the 'wet', dripping with oil look.

The scope got to me quicker than I expected so I haven't bought her rings yet.  Although I like Tally's I might go 'old school' again and go with glossy Leupold standards.

I like gloss scopes, too, depending on what rifle you put them on....sometimes I think the gloss makes a particular brand of scope look 'better' than the matte....like, the Leupold! I think the Leupold looks very good in gloss.

I understand Sightron is making some gloss now, aren't they?

Anyway, it looks very nifty!!!

Nice!!

How 'bout Conetrol rings?? They would be a good match, I think.

+1!!!  Outstanding suggestion from Mark!  Conetrol has the best "polished blue" finish of any mount manufacturer, bar none.   They are the best finished mounts I can think of overall.  If you get the "Custum" grade rings, they have that gleaming polished finish that you can see your reflection in.  I think they would be a perfect match for the finish on that scope!

Here's an example of the "Custum" grade Conetrol rings:

Wow, that is a class rig! Conetrol mounts and rings are so good looking especially compared to the "T" rings seen on every kustom rifle.

I owned a set of Conetrols and had issues with them holding my scope on a 300WM (about 8-pound gun, no brake.)  Torqued to spec (and higher) they couldn't hold the scope under recoil.

I thought all Leupolds were 24K gold plated - or do they just price them as such?

Nice setup, Ted.

As to Conetrols not holding, you must have a very small tube scope.(1"/30mm are not always the same brand to brand) Is it super clean and the rings too?
Then try some rosin on the rings. SK rings are also available in high gloss and are 1 piece and tighten more than a Conetrol. Having used both brands on some serious rifles (300 WB mag, 340 WB mag and 375 H&H) with scopes of reasonable weight with no problem. If you put a 30 ounce scope on a hard kicker you might have an issue. Good shooting.

Hey, Timber, what rings did you end up going with?  Got any pics of the completed rifle?

I apologize.  I had a major computer problem - still not completely solved.  And I have in fact been getting ready for hunting season.  We've had alot of logging in our lease (that's right, Florida) so we're changing many of our stands.  On the one hand it's interesting because it's almost like hunting new lands.  But the timing has been terrible.

Access to our rifle range is limited during hunting season so I may have to wait until mid-February to finish the 700/Leupold Custom Shop.  I am researching Conetrol though and will post when I decide on something.  Thanks for your patience.

That setup cries out for a set of Conetrols. Kustum level, please......
