I'm looking for a budget-minded scope with decent low light transmission. I currently own a Nikon Monarch UCC 5.5-16x44 which is mounted on my 270.  I have been fairly pleased with this scope.

I'm looking for a deer hunting scope for my Remington Model 700 BDL 30-06.  I would like to keep the budget less than $250.  I received a gift certificate for $100 from a frequent online retailer i use that gives me access to Bushnell and Tasco scopes.  I would buy the scope here if I hadn't already received the gift card.  This will significantly absorb the cost of the scope.

Which one should I buy and Why?  I need your experienced opinions please! Thanks in advance.

I have both so it is strictly a personal opinion. Since both are now a warranteed item this is not an issue. Optically both are good. Don't laugh the TITAN series optics are extremely good as is the overall construction quality . Perhaps I am swayed by a 30mm tube and and the 4a reticle.. which is a favorite. If you are looking at selling it down the road go Bushnell. The Tasco line will not erase the public opinion of a "cheap scope".................even if it had German glass in it !

The Titans will always be a sleeper purchase.

Titan would be my choice.  It is a pretty good scope for the money.  No wrong choice.

I know that Titan used to be a good scope (especially when it was called Euroclass), the quality went down a bit after that. I have no experience with the current Titan line though, and I am not sure if it got changed since Bushnell bought Tasco.  Elite 3200 are decent scopes that come with Rainguard coating which is a big help in foggy and cold conditions. Personally, I have not found 50mm objective to be especially helpful.  Between 40mm and 50mm you will only see a difference in light transmission at magnifications higher than 6x which are not used much for hunting.

I'd go with a 3-9x40 Elite 3200 with FireFLy reticle.

thanks for the input.  I'm on the fence right now.  I do use 6x + powers quite frequently.  Only because of the nature of my hunting environment.  I shot a doe deer this past weekend (anterless deer week in florida) at 353 yards.  Of course, low light wasn't an issue since it was 7:30 in the morning, but I did have the zoom on 8x.  I was using my brother-in-law's ruger m77 .204 with a bushnell banner 3-9x56.  The very next day, a young buck walked out right at dusk.  It was approximately 200 yards and I had a tough time determining if it was a spike or a 4-point.  of course, i wouldn't shoot it but it could've been a bigger buck nonethless.  This was looking through my nikon monarch.

keep the opinions coming.  I've read good things about both the titan and the elite 3200. although there is not a lot of info on the titan floating around.
