I plan on putting a scope with a 1" tube and max. .42mm objective. The scope will be one of the following. Zeiss Conquest, Sightron Big Sky, Elite 4200 or Leupold Xlll. The caliber is .270 WSM. Most of my current rifles have Redfield rings and bases.

Is there anything else you need to know

For Leupold base dual dovetail matte 2 piece I show part number51706 but I also show a second type "DD MarkV RVF (2-Piece part number  51707). I looked at the burris info and it refered to Howa which refered to Rem 700 so I'm not absolutely certain which one it is and would suggest you call SWFA Riflescopes.com to find out for sure.  I would use the Leupold or Burris dual dovetail (as both are interchangable) as the base and go with Burris Signature Select rings with the plastic inserts inside. The advantage here is you can buy other inserts that will give you plus 10 moa or plus 20 moa etc so that you can get more adjustment to shoot long range.

With the dual dovetail there is no windage adjustment screws to come loose and with the Burris Signature plastic inserts not only can you add MOA but they protect the finish of your scope. They are awesom rings I have used them on a 45-70 Encore pistol and on other heavy recoil guns with very good success.
