Does anyone know if the Steiner Military-Marine binoculars that you can buy at the store are exactly the same as the ones the military uses?  If they're not the same, what's different about them?  I'm in the market for some new binoculars and just thought these might be a good set to own.  -thanks

Depends on which military you are talking about.  Steiners are used by over 80 militaries world wide.  The U.S. military uses the M22.  We have some for sale on the SampeList.com site.  They are very rare and were never offered to the public.

Most militaries use the 8x30 military marine, however the entire military marine line are built to mil spec.
