Can anyone give me some information on different models they like. I'm trying to get it right the first time around.

Thanks
Steve

I'm still using the same Chrony I bought back in the late 80s. There are better ones out there but mine still does what I need it to do. The locals been using more than me lately tryin to break the sound barrier with their bows!

I like the Pro Chrono I got about a year ago

It has one piece skyscreens, one piece legs and a larger display.  It hasn't missed a shot in a year.

I used to have a Shooting Chrony Delta

Jointed legs that get loose after a while, 3 piece skyscreens that break and have to be replaced and a lot of "Err" messages.

My new favorite is the Pro Chono like the one shown by Sakomato. It's not bulletproof though (sorry Dale, couldn't resist that one). Much larger skyscreens than the Shooting Chrony

I am also in the market for a chrono.  Has anyone used the F1?
Thanks

You mean Dale shot another chronograph ? That would make two that I know of.

I like my 12 year old Pact - also is a shot  timer -provides stats and shot times and par times. Go button can have 2 sec delay to beep or instant.  Just wish it had a printout option.

I like the Chrony I've had for years. Mainly because it was cheap and is very compact when folded up for transporting to the range. I think the skyscreens are the weak point, as sakomato mentioned. They are a three-handed circus to set up.  I get consistent results with mine and very few "error" readings once they are set up, though.  It is important to open the box unit all the way to the stops when setting up, and a  fresh battery helps, too.
I like using it on overcast days, don't even bother with the skyscreens.
I'm sure most others are better, but mine was a great small investment years ago, and has served me far better than I would have expected.  Electronic devices tend to die on me like butterflies in he hands of a four year old. This one has held up well.

 I never shot it though....Big%20Grin
