I took my rifle out today for some long range shooting. I am using a zeiss scope with Rapid-z and had been hitting very well out to 600 yards with the scope on 10.5 power. When I made these shots it was 29 degrees. Today when I went out it was 60 and I hit low at longer ranges and ended up turning the scope down to 9 power to bring the shots up at
4-500 yards. Does this seem backwards to anyone else? It seems to me that less dense air should make the bullet shoot flatter, and hit high. The other question I have involves the rediculous heat waves I had to deal with today. Should they affect where I am hitting, or just make the target look less clear? I don't know whats going on, but I have never had such bad mirage on a 60 degree day before.

how much drop you talkin -- a change from 10% humidity to 50% would cause a drop of about 3 inch. (55 gr 22 around 3000 fps)

I would say about 4-6 at 400 and 500. The humidity is a possibility, was humid as hell today. Maybe that is why mirage was so bad?
