I have a couple of each of these scopes, and I wanted to know a little about them. They are all 12x power fixed scopes. The longer of the two appears to be a little clearer, but I'm not sure.

both look like leupold m8 12x scopes and i think you should give them to me right now and go buy two new scopes.

How come one is longer than the other, and the objective looks differant? I have 6 of them, 2 of the one, and 4 of the other.

I don't know nuthin' about 12X Leupolds.....but I do know that back in the late 80s Leupold shrunk up some of their fixed scope models. The 4X went from 11.5 inches to, like, 10.5 inches overnight.  Maybe they shrunk up the 12X's, too.

the one on the bottom looks exactly like the one my dad has on his .218bee nice scope, could be that one is a varmint model and the other is a target model age may have something to do with it as well.

the off color ones are quite a bit older than than the shorter , blacker ones, probably around 25 years.

I guess that just goes to show Leupold's reliability then, huh? Well, they are all 12x scopes, and I love them!!! Each one of my Ruger KM77VT's wears one, and they get the job done! Thanks for the input.

So is one better than the other, or are they identical then?
