I haven't been around much lately however I just noticed these fellas in the shop... It seems like everything I've ever wanted, a FFP with a Z-600 style reticle, and custom for a 22LR.  What more could I ask for?

Only problem is I know nothing about the company nor the quality.  I am currently Using a Vortex Viper and wondering if I would be disappointed with the quality of the fowler.  any owners?  just exactly how new is it?  thanks everyone.

What other models would you put them on par with in terms of glass clarity/resolution etc?  The exterior housing looks a little cheap to me in the pictures but i guess that isn't too important but sometimes an indicator of quality.

I have their 3-9x32mm that's calibrated to .22lr and it's a lot of fun with HV ammo. Smile

Here's a look at the reticle at 50 yards on 9x... sorry not the greatest pic.

They are made in Japan and I would say that this scope is right up there with a Sightron SII in clarity and quality having had a few. In fact it looks like a Sightron, right down to the power ring... and interestingly enough it had a Kenko inspection slip in the box and Sightron is listed as one of their affiliates on Kenko's website. This leads me to think that maybe PFI commisioned Sightron to make their scopes since PFI is not on Kenko's list of affliliates... all speculation though.

There is one thing that is kind of quirky with FFP scopes... since the subtension remains the same at all powers, the reticle will be either appear to be a little too thick on the high end of the manification range or a little too thin on the low end, but I'm sure that some designs find a happy medium. I had a Springfield Armory FFP scope years ago and the reticle was not fine enough to my liking at max power and I ended up selling it. The 3-9x32mm PFI is the opposite as it's quite fine at 9x, but at 3 to 4x it's wicked thin and might be a turn-off to someone using it for hunting on lower powers... just my opinion of course. Wink

Appreciate the post!  I really want one now.  I think my 6.5-20x44 viper looks a little silly (big) on my m&p15-22 so this would be a much better option.  Your rings look very nice which did you go with?  Its also really nice how low these sit.  I've found a couple people selling these second hand in the $200 range.. but most of those were several years ago.  Didn't know they've been around for this long.  I heard they actually designed Zeiss' Z reticles not sure if that is confirmable.  anyone have any for sale?   Tried the sample list but came up empty.

Also how accurate have you found the reticle to the indicated ranges?  I usually shoot CCI mini-mag/tactical and those are in the 1200ish range that PFI website says it was calibrated to, but of course that stuff is always different in the real world.  I've started to look towards subsonic ammo for accuracy not sure how that would make any difference.  what are your experiences, Thanks for sharing

Sure thing. Smile

The rings are Leupold QRW which are quick release which is mainly to get it into my gun safe, but I also have a little Ultradot that I throw on there once in a while. They are a little pricey, but return to zero quite well and usually no more than a click or two off.

It seems to be pretty close to marks, but I have not really put in on paper other than 50 yards and beyond that I've only plinked some steel. The ammo that I plink with is cheap bulk Federal and it's not the most accurate, but it's close to you CCI's velocity being just a little higher and works with the reticle well so far. I think that you'll find than subsonic and even standard velocity will fall short of the set marks, but you can note what marks fall on what ranges and make a cheat sheet for that ammo.

I was looking at the .17 HMR version but the reticle is a might "busy" for my liking.
