The LT accompanied me to S. Africa a few months back, these are a few of its victims.

As shots on African game are QUICK, there was no turret-spinning, and the Gen2XR made some amazing shots.  By the end of our trip, the PH was calling me the "King of the Bush" - which somewhat pissed off REMF, my fellow hunter.

On the scope, specifically:

1.  The image quality is fantastic, very clear edge-to-edge, no vignetting, not ghosting, no halos - and no tunneling (I hate tunneling.)

2.  The window telling what revolution you are on is good, but not as good as a mechanical indicator.  In low light, the window is useless.  Then again, this ain't illuminated, so the scope as a whole is useless in low light.

3.  Adjustments are dead nuts.

4.  Eye box is great, not quite Hensoldt 3-12, but very close.

5.  I hunt mostly pigs and deer in Texas, but venture out to elk and kudu and wildebeest from time to time.  For Texas hunting, you need illumination.  For others, it isn't as critical.  Be advised: the Gen2XR is all but invisible at 3X in low light.

I love the scope.

Get illumination!

Equality is something you whine about not being given.

Beautiful animals!

Glad to hear you still love the scope.  I keep coming back to the LT as about a perfect LR hunting scope for my next build.  Glad to hear about the illumination as I likely wouldn't have bought it.

Does anyone know if PR is still doing custom reticles since they went through are are still going through all the changes?

Thanks,

Idaho Scot

Did you ever do a review for yours?

No, but I did a test last year of sorts - resolving letters less than 13" high @ nearly 3 miles away. That, of course, was on a clear day like today. Couldn't have done it last month with all that smoke from Idaho. Big Smile

I've run the knobs a fair amount (haven't been shooting as much as I'd like) out as far as 1200 yds. They seem every bit as reliable as any I'ved used from NF or Premier. In other words, no problems.

Reaction time is a factor...

RC what lens caps are you using now? I remember your post awhile back about Butler Creek caps. Or did Butler Creek fix their issues?

Funny guy!  Ya, the fires here this year were brutal!  You and I weren't the only ones complaining.  The elk during archery season weren't one bit happy about it either.  Getting them to get serious about the rut while they were holed up and not moving for days wasn't very fun!  Finally got it done but it was a tough year!

Thanks for the info.

Some rifles stilll have old Butler Creeks, but I don't buy new ones. The LT has Premier caps, other scopes have bikinis.

I have not found a suitable direct replacement for BC.
