I own a pair of Leupold Yosemite binocs, 6x32. I bought them based upon all of the rave reviews they have been getting, and of course for the price.
I am generally pleased with them but there are a couple of optical issues, and I'm just wondering whether I got a lemon or if I'm being too particular. It seems like the left scope is a bit softer than the right scope, and yes I've played incessantly with the diopter adjustment and the left is always a bit softer. When looking through both normally, the image is generally very sharp but doesn't seem to "blend" together very well - ie, I think I'm noticing that one image is softer than the other. The other issue is that while the center of the right scope is extremely sharp, this sharpness falls of VERY quickly in the top 1/3 of the right scope. More so than the normal distortion/loss of sharpness you expect towards the edge of scopes without "Swarovski" printed on the side. The bottom and sides hold sharpness much longer, and the left scope exhibits a normal amount of softness all the way around. Is this normal for the Yosemites, or am I just expecting too much out of them? Again, the overall image is VERY good, but only the very center of the image and with a feeling of a "double image."

The last pair I looked through I didn't notice the issues you are having. Granted they are not going to give you an image as clear or a sweet spot as large as Alpha glass or other more expensive glass. For the money though esp. in the 6x the Yosemites are nice.
I prefer the Vortex in 6.5 more for just a bit more cash. For me the image was better plus a bit larger barrels to hang on to for an adult size hand.
I would (if possible) send back the ones you have and get a replacement.

Send your Leupold Yosemite 6x30 in to Leupold and they will either correct the problem or replace it with a new one.
When I purchased my wife a Leupold Katmai 6x32 I was getting eye strain from the left tube. I sent it in to Leupold and we received a brand new one in less than ten days.
Excellent warranty service!!!

Send them to Leupold and explain the problem in a letter.
I had a similar lemon once - it also had a very loose central hinge, and it was replaced by what must be the sharpest and best collimated binocular they ever produced.

Just a follow up, I sent in these binocs and Leupold shipped me a brand new set. 2 day turnaround at their end once they received them from me! The new binos are sharp all around, and exactly what I had heard about the Yosemites.
