I would like to here some objectives reviews on the Tasco 10-40X50.

I'm planing to mount this scope on a Rem. 700 VS SF II .223 for Benchrest Shooting at 100 and 200 Yds.

If possible include some explanations on your comments, no matter if  they are good or Bad.

I had one and it was not verry reliable. It would not hold zero at all. I had it mounted on a cz  22-250 that i use for prairie dogs and i did not like it. In my opinion take a look at another scope.

If your shooting target only, between 100-200 yards.40x is overkill. That tasco is junk. But if you want a 40x,There is a lot of better scopes out there.Go through the swfa list and read reviews befor you buy.

I bought one of those several years back and it was hazy, bland optics and generally not worth the $275 I paid, so I traded it for a TASCO Big Horn 5x15 and it was much better but still not up to the quality of target scope you need if your doing that all day.  Guess a Leupold, Weaver, Nightforce would work fine but will all cost a grand!

I bought a Leupold 3x9x40 Tactical scope for about $550 and based on that quality, would guess their 36x or 45 would be wonderfull?

Back to your question, I am getting just as good of groups from shooting at 8 power as I was getting at 32 power, so yoy probably could do well with a 6x24 Burris or Bushnell 4200
