My Rifle:

- Remington 700 Mountain LSS 7MM-08

My Scope:

- Sightron SII 3-9x42

What mounting system will bring my scope closest to the barrell?  Can Talley Lightweight one piece mounts achieve this?

Thanks,

Sean

Thanks Cheaptrick.  I'm just confused on the difference; the one you recommended is extended and the other model is not.  Please help as I do not understand the difference and the impact it may have on mounting a scope.  Thanks again.

My suggestion would be to locate a professional gunsmith and let them guide you. I have always found it is better to use a professional if (1) you don't have the tools, or (2) if you haven't the proper information/background to make the hardware change yourself. Same way with a CPA......he can read the IRS forms and regs, and do my returns with much less aggravation and with less issue than I so he gets that job and all I have to do is sign and mail. I am trying to remodel an SKS now and am using a professional 'smithy to make these changes and make recommendations. I know it will be better than if I try the trial and error method because it usually winds up in the error field.....Good luck....
