December's theme shall be Winter.

Based on the amount of interest Ted's theme generated I wanted to continue with the idea of transitioning seasons.

Winter, Christmas, Hunting, Family, anything you do in winter.

Nice!

I really wanted to get into last month's "Fall" contest, but the rules say you have to take the pic during the month of the contest, and Fall happened on a Tuesday afternoon in October in MT.

Luckily the winter season lasts a lot longer her in the Big Sky state, and I should be able to find something suitable this month!

Winter in California does not look too different from summer, but I'll see what I can come up with.

Did my initial Military Police training in Northern Cal. First two weeks temps were in the upper 80's. Last two weeks we had the first snow they said they had seen in 15 yrs. By end of the week I got back home found myself in the ER with pneumonia. Bad stuff!!! Was some beautiful country, saw jack rabbits for the first time and some darn nice elk. But I'm content to keep it here on the east coast for now. We probably won't see any snow till January.

Take care of Soldiers, Show em how its done and do it with em, Run to the Fight & and hold your ground! I die my men go home! If you're a NCO and this ain't you. GET OUT! GOD BLESS AMERICA!

This is accurate for Texas Ilya. Ted and I feel your pain.

But that is why I broadened the entries to include Christmas and Hunting as well. It makes the opportunity more fair.

I took this one two years ago.  We haven't had much winter here in southeast Missouri yet.

My brother said summer was brown and winter was green in your part of CaliforniaLoco

That's a nice shot, Semo, but keep in mind that in order to be an entry for the monthly photo contests, your photo has to be taken during the same month the monthly topic is announced.

He must have been referring to an unusually rainy winter.

Could have been, since it was February and L.A. looked pretty brown to me. Of course I had just flown in from Ky. and we were in our grey seasonBig Smile

I knew that the photo would not qualify for the contest and did not intend for it to be an entry.  Thanks for bringing that up.  I should have made mention when I posted the pic that it would not be entered.  That was why I had posted that it was taken two tears ago.

Roger that. The intent of my post was twofold:
1. Making sure you were aware so that if you wanted to participate, you weren't holding back on taking another photo this month, thinking you were already covered for this month's entry.
2. For the benefit of anyone new to the photo contest reading this thread who might not be aware of the rules for submitting a photo.
