All I can relate is second hand info from a young fellow that works where I do. He has a Pentax Lightseeker and likes it o.k. I believe he said it was kind of heavy and bulky, but I'm sure it will work for the intended purpose (although it would not be my first choice). Good luck. BTW, SWFA does have a nice trade in program if you ever want to upgrade.

Yeah, you could trade it in for $500 towards a Leica scope.  Big Grin

Weren't the lightseekers just a rebadged Burris. It is my impression that Burris built most of the older Pentax scopes including the older pioneers which were similar to fullfield ii models until recently when the production was moved to China and became pioneer II. The current gameseekers are definitely Chinese built. I don't know if the pioneer move was as a result of Beretta buying Burris or not but the timing is coincidental. I believe your lightseeker depending on vintage is similar to the original USA fullfield Burris and as such is probably a pretty decent scope. Does it have the sort of odd turret spacing where the turret is located sort of forward in the tube section?

Here is some discussion on Lightseeker scopes.

http://www.opticstalk.com/pentax-lightseeker_topic14463_page2&SID=96feab11-zccz-95cdfbef-784683fb-ea4f8bf7.html

It is a heavy scope for its type. But, my M7 has a 3-9x40 Nikon Monarch on it. It is a 1/2" shorter than the Pentax and I don't think it overwhelms the gun. The Pentax sure is heavy, though. That is one thing that tells me it still may be made by Burris. Burris makes very stout scopes.

light seekers are good solid scopes. My uncle has one on a browning 270 a bolt. Nice crisp clean glass for the money. I think he paid around 450 or so for his. No complaints
