I was going through the swfa scope list and I noticed the Pentax Lightseeker scopes. Why doesn't these scopes get the air time all the other scopes get that would be similar to these scopes?

The Pentax lightseekers are basically Burris Signatures. The new Pentax Lightseeker xl is basically a Burris Sig. Select. Most of the time the Pentax cost even more than the same model of Burris so I dont think a lot of people buy the Pentax they just buy the Burris. I personally want a Pentax Whitetails Unlimited in 3-9x40 with a twilight plex reticle. This scope is equal to a USA made Burris Fullfield 3-9x40. I only want it becuase of the thicker reticle but I wont pay the extra $100 for the heavier reticle...its still only a $200.00 scope.

Just a guess here but maybe because they are made by Burris (if they still are anymore) so why not buy a Burris but probably more likely that people would rather have a Nikon Monarch or Bushnell Elite Leupold or Conquest or whatever other highly rated scopes are in that same price point but more well known.

I know the Pentax is made by Burris, but do they maybe put better glass in the light seeker line?...does Burris make the optics for Pentax cameras if so why would Burris not be in the camera business as well?...I have always liked the bell on the Pentax scopes.it is just a little different, I see  that s@b uses this same look?

                                                             just curious?

Well I have never owned a Pentax scope but I believe and have read that the older Pentax lightseekers were made by Burris but used Higher quality Pentax lenses and coatings. The newer Pentax lightseeker XL I believe are made by Burris and have the same lenses as the Burris Signature Selects. I would say the Lightseekers with 30mm tubes are very similar or the same as Burris Euro Diamonds. I believe the one main difference that may matter to you is that although the newer Pentax and Burris are basically the same scope and lenses I think the Pentax have a power adjustment that is seperate from the eyepiece which I think most people like that better. That way you can use flip open lens caps and they wont change position when you change the power setting like they would on a Burris scope.

My Pentax SLR 50mm definitely does not have Burris supplied lenses.

If the Light Seeker is in fact a Signature scope, it is certainly no slouch for the money.
Signatures are a well built and reliable scope with better than average glass.
The ones I've seen don't have the damn Burris pin striping. They also have not been made in the magnifications with the adjustment turrets being way to close to the objective bells. Those models are a PITA to mount properly.

What's the "Burris pinstriping"?  I'm not familiar and don't see it in sample pics of Burris scopes.

Here it is and it doesn't belong on a hunting scope, IMO. The Golden Ring can't hold a candle to it. Sorry about referring to auto talk.

As stated they are basically Burris scopes. I have two slightly older scopes I have a Whitetails Unlimited and a LightSeeker I bought them cause I got great deals on them and I like to be different.  Both are great scopes.

Pentax Lightseeker is a good scope would rate it with Leupold VX3.Bought a rifle with a Lightseeker on, sold the scope to upgrade to a Sightron Big Sky.I believe that Pentax made scopes for Burris at one time now its the other way.
