I stumbled onto this news announcement the other day:

PENTAX ANNOUNCES NEW LINE OF GAMESEEKER RIFLE SCOPES
February 8, 2006

GOLDEN, Colorado (February 8, 2006)…PENTAX Imaging Company has announced an affordable,

new line of rugged and full-featured rifle scopes and dot sights all priced under $200 US.

Featuring one inch, one piece tube construction, these PENTAX Gameseeker® rifle scopes are extremely durable and fully waterproof for the most extreme hunting situations.  Each scope is nitrogen filled to prevent internal fogging of optical elements, and the fully-multi-coated optics with PentaBright™ technology help increase light transmission to deliver sharp, clear images.  Every Gameseeker includes the new bullet drop compensating Precision Plex reticle.

Along with the rifle scope line, PENTAX announced the new Gameseeker Dot Sights. Each dot sight features a 4 MOA dot, an ideal size for most shooters, as well as 11 brightness settings for various shooting conditions and a battery that provides 72 hours of continuous use.  Also featuring PentaBright Technology, each Gameseeker dot sight offers a sharp, clear image that is parallax free for accurate target acquisition.

“Our objective for the new PENTAX Gameseeker line is to deliver rugged, full-featured products at remarkably affordable prices,” said John Carlson, sport optics associate national sales manager, PENTAX Imaging Company.  “Despite the extremely low price points, the new Gameseeker line will endure any hunting adventure for years to come.”

The Gameseeker rifle scopes will be available in the following variable powers: 3x-9x 40mm Matte, 4x-12x 40mm Matte, 3x-9x 50mm Matte, 3.5x-10x 50mm Matte, 1.5x-6x 40mm Matte, 2.5x-10x 56mm Matte, 4x-16x 50mm Matte, 1.75x-5x 20mm Matte and in the following fixed powers: 4x 32mm Matte and 6x 42mm Matte.

PENTAX Imaging Company will preview the new line from February 9-12 in Las Vegas at the 2006 SHOT SHOW®, the world's premier exposition of firearms, ammunition, archery, cutlery, outdoor apparel, optics, camping and related products and services.

PENTAX Imaging Company is an innovative leader in the production of sport optics, digital cameras, lenses, eyepieces, mobile printers and scanners, and Internet cameras.  For more than 80 years, PENTAX technology has developed durable, reliable products that meet the needs of consumers and businesses.  PENTAX Imaging Company is a division of PENTAX of America, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of PENTAX Corporation

Has anyone seen these?  Several web retailers already have prices posted and they seem very low.  Are these scopes going to be made in US or somewhere in the Pacific Rim? Are they also going to be assembled by Burris? Some of the tubes look exactly like Burris, but some are different?

Also, these scopes will have a range-estimating Precision Plex reticle.  Does anyone know what that is?

Any info would be helpful.

Thanks.

Thanks.  I've seen the specs, but I was wondering if anyone has seen these and/or knows any additional information.
