Hello everyone.... I'm in the market for a new set of binocs that will mainly be used for hunting and have narrowed it down to the following:

Pentax DCF ED 8x42
Meopta Meostar 8x42
Nikon L-XL 8x42
Vortex Razor 8x42

Any recommendations???

Also, is it worth it to jump up to one of the big three if I buy certified preowned for $400-$500 more??
Leica Ultravid 8x42
Zeiss Victory FL (non- LotuTec) 8x42

Thanks

I have Meopta 10-42 and have used teh Razor 8-42 and both of those are a fantastic bino.  Meopta's are a little more compact, Razors have a better eye cup.  Optically they are very very close.  I would probably say the Meopta is a little better optically but not by much.  I would save the money and put it towards a new scope or rifle if it were me.  I think it would be pretty hard not to be satisfied with either of those binos.

Thanks for the response guys. I got a deal on a new pair of Meopta Meostar 8x42 binocs that I couldn't pass up.  They are ultra clear and bright but a little heavy.  The price was so good though if I decide I don't like them I could sell them later down the road for what I bought for.
