Anybody tried these yet? Have seen some really good prices on them lately. The only other bino I am thinking about at all is the Bushnell Legend 10x50 porro, but it is more $$.

I like both sets of binoculars. If I had to pick one I might lean a little more toward the Bushnell Legend, seems a little more brighter and clearer to me. Does it have to be a 50X objective? If not, then if you want a poro that was recommended to me on this sight wich will blow both the Pentax and Bushnell out at every level buy the Bausch & Lomb Discoverers from Cabelas on closeout. You can get either 10x42 or 8x42. These binoculars are a GREAT buy since when they were in production they sold for closer to $350.00. They are water proof, have great twist up eye caps that give great eye relief (Much better than my Swifts) and have GREAT clear optics that are bright and can really pull in the light at dusk and dawn.
I still think my Swift Audubons ED are the best poro out there, but the Discoverers are very close and a great close out buy. |

I'd read so many references to the Cabela's close out on the Discoverers here at OpticsTalk that I had to take the plunge.
I bought 10x42's for $189. Incomparable value for the money. The performance far and away exceeds my Bushnell Legends, Olympus Pathfinders, Minolta Activas, and Pentax PCF's. Only the Swift Audubons held up comparably well to the Discoverer's and they were not as sharp edge to edge as the Bausch & Lombs. Crisp, 3D like image across the field and great color rendition. Comparable view to my Kahles for one fourth the price. Exceptional value in optics. |
