So... I have a fair amount of time behind higher magnification scopes (4-16x, 5.5-22x, 6-24x, 8-32x, 12-42x) for target shooting where parallax correction is critical to having shots on call and keeping group size down.

I realize that with lower magnification scopes, they often aren't used (much) at distances far enough away for parallax to be a real issue, or aren't high enough power to be able to really 'see' the movement as much.  Even so, it still (kind of) bugs me Loco to use a scope in the 3-9x / 4-12x / 2.5-10x etc. range at ranges beyond 300yds without having any way to correct for parallax error.

I've got two guns that I am looking to re-scope here over the winter - an AR 'precision' carbine in .223 Rem and a Savage 10PC-SR 20" .308 Win.  Some of the scopes I'm looking at (in terms of size, features, price, etc.) are in the magnification range from 2.5-3x on the bottom to 12-15x on the top, and some don't have parallax correction adjustment.  For general shooting out to 300yds, I figure that'd be fine (as much as it pains me to admit it).  My question is... how much is it going to screw with grouping ability @ say, 500-600yds or possibly beyond?

It is not going to bug you much at all. In fact the further out your target is the less parallax matters, as your eye is aligning better to the center axis.
My scope for example (leupold 5-25) has a lot of parallax adjustment in the 50-200m range, and hardly any beyond. The dial turns a lot in the shorter distances, and little from 300 yds to infinity. A swarovski i looked at was the same.
So shoot away.
The lower magnifications are even less prone to parallax error, that is why they do not even have the correction dials fitted.
