Can anyone tell me if it's possible to alter the minimum paralex of a scope to a shorter distance by removing the front lens cap and turning the lens? The reason I ask is that I have my eye on a Vortex viper pst 6-24x50 ffp which has a minimum paralex of 50 yards. Please don't suggest I look for another scope as this one has a unique reticle (EBR 2C MRAD) that can't be found anywhere in the world at that price range. I've seen this demonstrated on YouTube (pyramid air) with a fixed mag scope. Thanks for any tips.

Fixed parallax scopes I believe can be adjusted that way.  You are looking at a scope with a side parallax adjustment.

I am no expert by no means, but I don't think turning the lens would work with a adjustable parallax scope.

On the scope you have, you should not try it.  It would bring nothing but trouble.  Not exactly sure why you want to use this long range model scope at less than 50 yards where you don't the fancy reticle.

You can do parallax adjustment on some fixed power and variable scopes using the method you see on youtube.  I've done it myself on a couple scopes.  Some can't be done this way because of the way they are assembled and shouldn't be messed with.

Its because I have a sub 12ftlb airgun which is ideal for 15-60 yards. This is why I wanted to know if it were possible to alter the paralex on this particular scope to a shorter distance.
