I wear prescription glasses for distance (I'm near sighted). The rifle we were shooting had a Simmons 8 Point scope on it and was shooting well for both my son and I until I traded my non prescription shooting glasses for my expensive prescription glasses. My group size increased dramatically. I noticed that I was getting a parallax shift with slight head movements and we could not adjust the scope to correct it. Once I went back to regular shooting glasses it disappeared.
I regularly shoot with a Simmons ATEC 3.8-12x44 and see no issues with prescription glasses and don't recall any issues with numerous other scopes
Is this some factor of scope quality I should be aware of when buying future scopes?
Normally buy in $100 - $400 range variables (2-6x36, 3-9x40, 3.8-12x44) - any recommendations on what works and what to avoid?

You might have to get a scope with adjustable diopter. I know I see big changes if I happen to shoot with out my contacts. If the diopter(reticle focus) is not set for your prescription, the parallax control cannot put the reticle on the same focus-point as the target.
