Ohio is not a new police state. Law enforcement there has been in the firearms and outdoors related news for years. This story is a good reminder, though.

Yea I know, this s#*t just got my blood boiling though. It takes a real man to hold an assault rifle on old folks & children.

Where do you start in a thing like this... I would not buy any food from the Amish.  Thier cleanliness standards are minimal at best. You are MUCH better off getting stuff from your local hippie.

Ohio has a long and well earned reputation in the JBT arena.  When all you have is a hammer... A couple of years ago thier social workers found out that the court requires search warrant.  They are just too close to the east coast.

The government does not want to deal with the "hobby" farmer.  That said there are some real issues in protecting the food supply.

Well silver I got to tell ya,  some of my closest neighbors are Amish & their standard of cleanliness I would put above most all commercial food sources that I've seen. The very worst being fast food joints & alot of sit down restaurants. Heck, just ask your local health department what they witness on a daily basis. It might surprise you. That may also explain why they aren't as sick as often as we English folk. They don't live any different than our kin did 100 years ago.  My family & I eat quite a bit of their products. I'd much rather have a little dirt end up in my mouth than all the known and unknown crap that goes into our food any day!

We have new Amish and Old Amish... That means the old ones have beeen established more than 100 years. The New Amish have moved in from Pa and Ohio as they are running out of land.  They have VERY differant standards between them.  You want to stay up wind of most of them.
