Oh well.....

I like those pointy bullets
My thought... the Ruger is a FINE choice... I made my purchase before Ruger came out with a 5.7.   Personally, I think the Ruger has some features (better sights, easier on target than the FN... at a much better price.)  However, the FN has a longer history of performance and I have had NO, read that ZERO, failures.  And... it shoots true.  The Ruger has been noted for some malfunctions, which I am sure can be "corrected" with some gunsmithing.  I've had my FN for several years now and never a malfunction.  I don't really care for the FN trigger... it has an approximate 8lb pull... Ruger's is a little more than 1/2 that... with practice, any trigger is manageable.  I like the mag release on the FN better.
For my FN, I want TRUE night sights, a better trigger... I've practiced enough that I do pretty well with my Fn handgun... but it could be better.
I love the attainable velocities and long range penetration with those "pointy bullets" (sounds sinfully sexy, doesn't it... it is)...

Well we finally have AC..........I hope.

It rattled..began to move...IN MY DIRECTION... I drew and fired... not much time appreciate its beauty...it is beautiful... no longer deadly.

How have you been making it without AC???
Don't blame you for shooting it. I'd a shot it too, and wouldn't even have to move or rattle.

It hasn't been horrible. The earth sheltered house has helped a lot, but AC is much better. The humidity has been the worst part. The other night it felt like I was in a sauna. I'm also going have to throw away a bunch of stuff because mold has just destroyed it. Dehumidifiers help, but they generate enough heat to make a room dry and hot. I've learned some tricks to keeping the house comfortable, but timing and good screens are everything.

I’m tooooo old for that kind of recoil. Bad shoulder wouldn’t handle it well. The Creedmoor is just fine.

Howdy peeps.

Afternoon gents

Shot a backup gun match this AM. Was fun and challenging. Gives me a chance to learn my current limits with my BUG.

Big bore match; not really my idea of fun, but I would shoot the National Match course with a 1903 or A3 Springfield. Not really a big bore but 80 rounds of 30-06 in a bolt action with a steel butt plate.

AMEN... however some of the competitions require strictly "stock" rifles... no pads allowed.
I've gotten sloppy a few times, arrogant maybe, and not performed excellent rifle handling and lighted up my day, but I've also, numerous times, fired 50 rounds with my .458's followed by 20 or so with the .50 and had no soreness whatsoever.  I like the "big bores"... actually my favorite guns to shoot. They demand attention to detail...

In CMP National Match courses, a butt pad would not be allowed.

Morning all,

Yep, the big bores are fun and we only shoot them standing or sitting so fortunately no prone stuff.

Picked up a new Burris Fastfire III (3 moa dot over the weekend) Good deal as I think Burris will oly make the Fastfire IV from now on.

I think I hurt Ed's feelings.
He always was very sensitive.
