I also have an issue with the gooberment trying to tell me what I do or don't need. Especially when they refuse to listen to me (us) when we tell them what they can and can't do.
Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.

When we got our generator, I thought about such a system. The problem is the Propane Co.s will not deliver to my house because of the driveway, and I don't feel like hauling, filling and connecting a bunch of 50 gallon tanks that would rarely be used. It would be nice though.

I'd still go the propane route.  Propane doesn't age, especially like the ethanol gas does.  For reliable "blue moon" use I'd pick propane....

I have been checking into wind turbine power. The tower is the most expensive part, and it's a huge expense, and it's not something I want to cut corners on.

That is very true! I would not fancy something like that falling near property or loved ones!

Morning all, Friday here and very very windy! Likely to be 40mph+ on the hunting grounds so makes sitting in a tree stand rather unattractive!

Scrummy

Mornin’ all, very windy here also. Calling for wind & rain tomorrow for the opening of muzzleloader. I’ll be in the tree house.

Evening gents.

just got back from the first day of the KCR machine gun shoot.
Helped with the assault rifle and military bolt action match. It was a good day, but very cool. I think I stayed a level below comfortable cool all day.
The bad news we got was that this was probably the last assault rifle match for the MG shoots, and that the shoot is going to be shortened to just Friday and Saturday. Very sad for those of us who have been coming to the shoot for decades like a bi-annual trek to Mecca.

Morning folks,

Hope everyone had good weekends?

Saturday was a bit of a but. Found out there was a problem with our vanity unit so another hold up for the bathroom… That was Saturday gone.

Sunday I was doing a first aid course. This is good for work but also included an additional  “Forestry” so more to do with stopping catastrophic bleeding (Playing with Tourniquets and “Quikclot” type stuff which I hadn’t done before). The Forestry Commission in the UK requires that stalkers have this First Aid at Work + Forestry Course. My hunting ground isn’t Forestry Commission stuff but some large land owners are under pressures from their insurers to follow suit. I’m not a huge fan of additional hoops and paperwork but this course was actually well delivered and could be useful in a tight spot.

BF, sorry to hear about the issue with the MG shoot.

Scrummy

Mornin’ all, no luck with the muzzleloader over the weekend. Saw lots of doe but no bucks. Rifle opens next Saturday.

Heading to Pittsburgh tomorrow for the NASGW Show. We’ll have Dickinson Arms and HSM there.
