Bad news, good news, bad news, etc.. I poisoned Mrs. BF's Subaru with old gas Sunday. She had it taken to the dealer for repairs, that was the bad news. While it was there I had them check for a burning oil smell I couldn't find, and they found a leaking head gasket and can replace it in 2 days. that was the good news. It's going to be about $2,300.00 total. That was the real bad news.

No garage, need it now, and with my hands it's sometimes hard to get the nut where I need it.

Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.

I still turn wrenches some but my problem is time.  I dont' have time to do stuff.  I've been asked so many times to work on saturdays at my old shop its not even funny.  I love turning wrenches and automotive work but the toll on your body isn't that fun.

I wonder just how bad this screwy winter is going to be on teh deer population!??!?  i'd think an extremely high fawn mortality rate for one thing....

In my area we some seldom get any snow.  Now with weeks of the stuff covering forage and the animals not used to the hardsip, It sure it's taking a heavy toll.

Good Morning, Gentlemen.  Heat wave here also.  62* yesterday, 41* now.  Front on the way(so they say). Chance of snow or rain today, 25-35 mph wind. We need the moisture.  This close to the mountains, don't ever know whether we'll get the mountain weather or the plains weather.  Keeps life interesting.    Heifer had twins yesterday; surprisingly, both doing well.  Skip, hope you're staying warm and not snowed in.  Bud, keep the sheep warm and safe. I don't know; that may be at the top of the priority list (Kidding).

Mornin comradesHowdy

29* going to 57* today.

Clay, congratulations on the twins. It's great that you didn't loose them.

Bud, I was thinking the same thing as you about the fawns. However, last week Mrs. BF and I were going out to eat about dusk, we started seeing deer in the fields along the way. Just about every field and large yard had at LEAST 5-6 deer in them. I think they all stayed in 5 star hotels while it was cold and snowy.

Deer here are fine to.  Its the smaller animals that took a hit with the ice.  Lots of baby squirels to rescue

Of course it's too early for fawns to start dropping here.

AFternoon Gents.  Hey Lynn -- isn't your mustang only 18 mos. old?  If so, why in the world are you having to pay boo for repairs?

Aint the Mustang Bro. It's Mrs. BF's racing Subaru Outback. It's the one she uses to haul spirits and outrun the po poWink

Ah.  No wonder - I hear using straight ethyl alcohol in the tank can really ruin those head gaskets.Big Grin
