Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.

What the hell is a Ceilidh?

Mornin gents.

Overcast, but clearing. 59 when I left the house, and only going to low 70s, maybe.

Had lots of rain over the weekend with flash flooding in places around the State.

Had a big club match Saturday, when we have our shoot off between the top shooters in each class, the annual club meeting and election of officers, and our fist match of the next season.
I was in 4th place for A class, so I thought I was an alternate and not in the shoot off. So instead of coming home from work Friday and practicing, Mrs. BF and I went out to dinner at a nice restaurant and had few drinks. I was a little fuzzy Saturday  AM, but safe to shoot.
As I was signing up to shoot the regular match somebody started calling my name for the shoot off in A class. CRAP! I couldn't have been more unprepared for the shoot off, even my shooting glasses fogged up when I put them on.
I quickly got my act together, and found myself standing at the shoot off stage with the number 1 shooter in the class. Going in cold and no real game plan, I decided to play it safe and put multiple rounds on the paper targets. Got my clock cleaned. Oh good, I can go now. No, I had to shoot against the other 2 shooters and the guy that just beat me, again. Now the rest of this is kind of fuzzy, but I had to shoot 3 or 4 more times; winning some and loosing some. I just knew I had decided to play to my strength and instead of slinging multiple bullets at  a target like they were doing, I would just send 1 aimed shot at a target and move on, and it worked for me unless I hesitated (I did once) or missed (I did once). Anyway, I wound up in 2nd or 3rd place, which means nothing. On the bright side, I thought I did pretty good with NO preparation, and a minor hangover, and as the old TV westerns go, nobody ever went looking to make a name for himself by going after the 3rd fastest gun in the west.

Like our square dancing?

And thanks. The other 3 shooters congratulated me and said I messed with their minds the way I shot, or something like that.

Mornin gents.

Started in low 50s and going to low 70s, partly cloudy with a 10% chance of rain.

For me, it's a twisted day today.

Hope G is taking the appropriate action for the hurricane that is coming to visit him.

OH MAN! If this wasn't a family forum I'd have some fun with that one. Just can't get my mind out of the gutter.

Well life is starting to untwist.
I got some good news from a friend of mine. His wife just had a double mastectomy and breast reconstruction, and the mass that they removed was not cancerous.
The bad news was we had to put one of our dogs down today, and I just finished burying him. He was 14 years old and having seizures, and it was his time, but we always hate to see them go. We put him next to the cat that we lost a few months ago. They were best buds and played together when they were able. The house and routine is just going to be different from now on.
Maybe Mrs.BF and I can put a little stress behind us for a while.
