What do you wanna do with it.  Knock down still plates or shoot at paper targets for groups?  If you want to maintain any type of tight groups you need to look at something like a low powered variable scope.  If you wanna be able to pop targets fast and not really care about placement on them then a red dot would work.  Me personally, only going with a 100yds i would look at a red dot. or tirjicon  You can still get pretty good accuracy out of them.   Looking at one with a smaller dot size would be helpfully in keeping groups down but the larger dots will get on target faster.  The best of both worlds would be something like a Trijicon accupoint or ACOG with the triangle reticles.  you can use the tip of the triangle as a precise aiming point and the whole triange itself as a quick target point

If it is all under 100 yards, get an Aimpoint or eotech.  NO need for any magnification.

I agree with the Aimpoint idea.

I have several of the more popular ones Comp M4, Comp M4s, Comp M2, Trijicon Compact Acog 1.5x amber triangle TA442, Trijicon Compact Acog 3x red crosshair TA50 R4, Trijicon Acog 4x TA01b.
I will suggest I prefer Red to the Amber but I like the 1.5x Compact Acog with the triangle the best so I would suggest you buy:
Trijicon 1.5x16 Compact Acog Rifle Scope Red Triangle Trijicon 1.5x16 Compact Acog Rifle Scope
Stock # - TA44R2
  • Red Triangle
  • Free Lens Cleaning Pen w/ Purchase
$909.95
The triangle gives a large bright aiming point up close larger than a 2moa dot but allows you to work off the point of it for better accuracy at longer distance. The traditional clear glass of the compact Acog and Acog scopes is brighter to look through in low light than an aimpoint.  Amber is great except under light conditions where you are looking toward a bright streetlight at night and then it washes out where red does not.  The green color actually appears the brightest.

if you have the flat dark earth model, they eotech and trijicon both come in a nice matching color too.  i'd go with one of those.
