When an image is transmitted through a scope I am thinking that at the focal point it is focused perhaps 3 to 4 inches from your eyes.  Yet with my progressive bifocals it seems that I get my clearest image looking through the part of the lens that is ground for distance vision.  Am I all wet?  It is getting harder and harder to have the distant objects in the scopes appear crystal clear, even on AO scopes, yet the reticles are near perfect.  I do notice that I have to crank the occular adjuster out a heck of a lot though.

What are the best kinds of prescription glasses to get for shooting with scopes?  Would these need to be different than glasses for open sights?

That is probably a good question for your optomitrist. I have progressive bi-focals and I just make do as best I can. One of my buddies has tri-focals and that's when things get really rough.
