Gona purchase an AR  for the first time, and am curious as to what optics some of you AR guy's chose to put on your rigs? How about A little show & tell!  My particular AR will be for yote's & p.dogs most of the time. Wink

Nice heater!  It seems that people are using the whole spectrum when it comes to the power level. This may take more time to decide than I thought. Got my gears turning though!

new concept gun, dual plane image, with mechanical elevation adjustment, works in any weather, or lighting condition for those difficult "shot in the dark" problems.

any mil-spec lower in ar15, armalite and dpms for ar10, jewell or RRA triggers, are better but if you don't want the additional cost, armalite 2 stages are pretty good. The most important part is the matching of the barrel to the uppers, and the torgue applied. bushy has been doing really well last 10 years, had some problems when they were Quality Parts. DPMS (now busy) and armalites in ar10's

My only AR is a Bushmaster with some aftermarket stuff on it including a Jewell trigger. It is a great system. I just need to take it out more often. It has the 20 inch chrome-lined 1-9 factory barrel which will put 50 gr. Hornadys into a half-inch at 100 yards and 75 HPBTs into well under 6 inches at 600. I have more load development to do, too.  I love it!

Hello all! Im new here and noticed this post about AR platform Varmint rifles and just had to brag about mine.
I also have a Bushmaster Varminter, I have a Weaver T24 mounted on mine, It works very well. I also have a DPMS Stainless bull barreld upper on a DPMS lower that I "JUST" finished putting together. I mounted a Simmons White tail classic 6.5-20X50 on. When it warms up alittle bit I will give it a try. I also have a Bushmaster 11.5" 5.5" flashider upper I put on the DPMS lower for fun. my kids shoot that with the Ciener 22 conversion ALOT!
I just won the Simmons scope from SWFA on GunBroker.com, After reading the "scope review" on this forum, Im wondering if it was a good purchase!Eek

Put some low range variable along the lines of 1-4x24 on it.  That seems to be the most versatile optics for most ARs that are not used as varminters.

What is your price range?

Probably no more than 300.00 for the AR. I am trying to save up for a Zeiss or Kahles. I would like to purchase by summer for another gun.....to many wants not enough money arrrgh.

I know that a lot of guys like Eotechs, but now that there are some great lasers available, I kind of wonder if any non-magnifying sight is a good choice anymore. Anyone who has used a good laser care to enlighten me?
