Does anyone know where I can find information (such as a website) that lists the suppliers of glass and other components to the various optics companies, as well as who actually manufactures scopes and binoculars for some of the Optics brands that outsource their products?

Thanks in advance for your help!

That info is on a "need to know" basis.  Other than being curios, what is your need to know?

No real "need" to know; just curious, as I like knowing where the major components of the products I buy are made.  I have philosophical, political, and personal reasons for wanting to know this information.  In addition, it seems that in the world of optics especially, where and who manufactures what seems to be an ever changing thing.

If you have question about specific products, it may be possible to dig up some information.  If you want a detailed "state of the industry" so to speak, it is largely proprietory information.

Yeah, in short, I have real problems having my hard earned money go to communist countries with ICBMs aimed at our west coast, countries that bite the hand that feeds them.  This is becoming increasingly hard to do, but I try not to buy anything made in China if at all possible, and I like to know these things before I purchase something.  Has nothing to do with whether or not they can make a quality product.  I'll just leave it at that.

Now I strongly agree with RifleDude on this one.  No question about it.
