What are your opinions on who is the ultimate optics manufacture? My pick is Zeiss. I beleive they have the best understanding and knowledge of optics in the business. They never let there guard down and spend million on research to learn and better what to me is already the very best.  Brian

I think Zeiss is a pretty good pick and they do make all forms of optics beyond just sporting stuff.  I would also say that just about any company whose employees speak German is going to have pretty good optics!

the ultimate optic in hunting scopes IMHO would be zeiss followed closely by swaro. tactical would be the Mark 4's followed closely by the Super Snipers. Bino's would be swaro, rangefinders leica, and spotter..zeiss.

I have to wonder why Leica does not jump into the riflescope market.  It seems that it would be a no brainer and they could demand a premium right out of the gate.  I know about the "Leica-polds" in the past, but I don't know of them having made their own scopes.  The lack of a riflescope line is my primary reason for placing Zeiss ahead of them.

There are a lot of German optiks companys you won't even see in the states.  Like rools, hensoldt, pusch, and probably 10 others.  Burris is my pick for the best American quality.  Leupold is the most recogonized.  Fujninon, Swarovski and Zeiss are pinacle companys everyone wants to be, and Schmidt and Bender is the best rifle scope maker in the world.  while zeiss, leica, and swarovski are fighting for the number one binocular.  Depends on what you like they are all damn close.

I 'll say US Optics.

All American company.

Great customer service.

Pioneers in the field of optics.

The Pres. JBWIII hangs out on many shooting forums. Gives unbelievable group buy discounts to people(like me) that couldn't afford to buy their products normally.

The President of USO spends several hours a day talking one on one to people on the phone explaining how his products work.

USO offers more options on their scopes than any other optics manufacturer, bar none!! That statement can't be refuted! USO is the only "custom scope maker" in the world.

(Try calling S&B and ask them to make a custom PMII for you, and see what they say.)  "We offer 5 differant models, they'll say!! What more could you possibly want!!"

These attributes, and many others make US Optics the best optics maker in the world.

Try getting the President of Schmidt and Bender, Zeiss, Leupold or anybody else for that matter, on the phone for a chat. Won't happen!!

Call USO almost any day of the week, and John is available to answer questions for you.

No disrespect intended for any of other brands mentioned. All great companies. But, USO stands alone in my opinion, as THE BEST!!!

Go ahead and call Scmidt and Bender.  They only have 80 employees.  I talked to them on Friday about which one of there scopes was right for my new Blaser S-2 9.3x74R.

5 models?????????? Please!  S&M has 6 different product lines with more than 4 or 5 models per line!

Kind of reminds me of Blaser, or better yet Steve Hornady.  Can't tell you how many times I have called Hornady to ask a question and they put me through to Steve.

S&B offers 6 models of PMII's. One is a CQB, and 3 are all 3-12x50mm. Ones for a 50 cal., a standard, and a lit reticle. A 10x42mm and a 16x50mm.

Not what you might call a ton of choices.  But, magnificent choices none the less.

I said 5 PMII scopes in my first post, because I forgotten about the CQB model. I only counted their LR scopes. Still, not as many options as Leupold, let alone USO. You get what they give you.

Take a deep breath, friend. I'm not knocking S&B. I love their scopes.

The PMII is the second best sniper scope in the world. The USO SN-3 is a shade better, IMO. Some people like the S&B better. Again, chocolate vs. vanilla.

I only used S&B as an example in my earlier post.

I've owned them and used them quite a bit. Friends have raved about customer service. I never had to use it.

I see your in Spain. Stationed there?

I'm born and bred in the USA. I support US companies at every opportunity. I make no apologies for that. If they earn my business.

US Optics has earned a life time customer, because of the way they have treated me and several friends.

USO's JBWIII found out while hanging out at Snipers Hide, that a friend of friend was pulling a security gig in the sand box, and had been issued a LR rifle, maybe a MIA with an old Loopie Mark 4.(I believe).

Well, it seems the friend and his team had taken some fire from some Tangos at a good distance. When the friend returned fire with his rifle, he was unable to return fire effectively. The issued scope was not in good working order, from my understanding. (Please, no flames from Leupoldites).

USO sent him a scope free of charge to protect himself and his team from further such incidents.

One of the many, many reasons that I have found USO to the best optics company in the world. Or at least in my world....

I am an American too, I was born in the Wind River Country of Wyoming.  I have been in the US Navy for almost 12 years, done 5 tours in Iraq and 1 in Afganistan.

USO may be a great company and they may support the military.  Until now I had never heard of them.

I get to shoot almost every week, I train aircrew how to survive in combat.  Then I work on there flight gear to insure they do.  I don't get to use a gun in my job in combat in my job in the Navy.

I use a scope for hunting mostly.  US optics doesn't look like a hunting optics company to me.  I don't see them doing anything for me in that department that isn't done by someone who speaks German.

I haven't liked Leupold for a long time.  Burris has always impressed me.  I also like Docter, Swarovski, Zeiss, Fujinon, Schmidt and Bender, and Kahles.  I don't have all of them but I have a couple from most.  I don't own any Swarovski or Schmidt and Benders yet.  Though I do want them.  I like Springfield but it's not much of a hunting scope either.
