never owned one, considering buying one, just wondered what opinions were. i'm just talking about the rear parralax adjustment only.

I "assume" rear parallax has the same advantage as front parallax: fewer elements.  This, of course, is compared to a side parallax.

The only scope I have used with rear parallax is the SS10x42 sold here, it is a good scope and, theoretically, is brighter than a side parallax 10x42 - though I couldn't tell a difference in the light of day.

If you can stand to wait we anticipate a 3-9x42 version within a few months.

the rear focus is better than the side focus for two reasons. one just like A/O it uses one less lense than a side focus (unless the SS is somehow different) so one less peice of glass for light to pass throguh means a brighter scope, and you wouldnt be able to look at it and you would adjust it properly. you do not need to look at a parralax knob to adjsut it and you should not look at it, it doesnt matter what yardage its set at, you look through the scope and dial the knob until you have dialed parralax out. the yardage marks on parralax knobs are rarely accurate.
