I am soon mounting a Leupold M8 4X Compact on a CZ527.  Mygoal was to find a small scope to compliment this micro-mauser action and mount it as low as possible.  The CZ527 has  the new higher clearance bolt handle.

Angle-locs are the lowest available but I've encountered some mixed reviews.  Some say just fine if they are properly installed and some rename them Mangle-locs.  Wondering if anyone can educate a fellow, please?

Millet Angle-Loc rings are EXCELLENT... IF... you are careful and know what you are doing.  Mangle-Loc is a name that is given by someone who attempted to used the Angle-Loc rings but was 1) incompetent, 2) incautious doing so.  There are actually some pretty good instructions put out by Millet on HOW TO use the rings.  Much better if you have a ring alignment kit, to begin with.  It is not an "instantaneous" thing and if you do not feel up to the task, either let a GOOD gunsmith do it or use something else.  You can certainly "mangle" a scope if you are not qualified to perform a precision alignment.  I've used Angle-Locs for many years and NEVER had a single problem.  Angle-Locs allow very accurate scope to boreline adjustment and can provide for a near-perfect azimuthal alignment.  It CAN take some time, especially if your mount is slightly out of alignment with bore centerline... it happens.  I have a rifle that I HAD to use Angle-locs on for quite some time, but finally just got a scope with enough windage adjustment to allow me to put the mount I wanted on the rifle without filling and reboring the mount screw holes.  Not that there was anything wrong with the Angle-locs... I just wanted a different look.
Nothing wrong with Angle-locs... sometimes something wrong with the installer/user...
