It sounds as though my project car may finally be getting painted. Working on a 1968 Camaro. I'm looking for good ideas for a paint scheme. Please keep in mind that I'm colorblind, (mostly red/green) and am not likely to paint my car pink, or some other color I can't see. I was leaning towards Tuxedo black with Cortez silver deck stripes, but thought I'd get some opinions first. What do you guys think?

OOOOOH. Mikey likes it!! Don't know if I've ever seen ghosted silver stripes. Will have to talk to my buddy about painting them.

The electric blue might not look too bac, but I'm not really a fan of yellow on anything.

Um. Yeah. Yellow. You guys really like yellow don't you? That to me just seems like a good way to draw attention. I.E. Tickets.

Maybe I should do something subtle, as to not attract the law?

I kinda like the electric blue and black scheme Brandon suggested.  What about electric blue as the base color with black deck stripes outlined in silver pinstripes?  The silver would really complement the blue / black scheme and would accent the stripes well.

Oh, well, thank you.........Although I assure you it looks nothing like that yet. That is an "artists rendering" if you will.

That's kind of why I thought it needn't be too flashy to get attention. It attracts enough the way it looks now, and it's red, black, blue, and primer gray. Maybe I should leave it! The "sleeper" look.Big Smile

I have one running around town already that is blue with black stripes, and one blue with white stripes. But a deep blue with silver stripes would be sharp looking too.

Yes, dark blue with silver stripes or silver with blue stripes would look very sharp!

I tend to like the really dark metallic blue or green with silver strips.  Looks black in some lights, or green or blue depending on what you paint it.  Just my opinion and likes.

my question is do you want it remain stock, or are you after a custom look?

Thunbs Up

If I'm fully restoring it, I'd pick an original '68 Camaro paint scheme.

Custom or modern look.... I'd have ghost stripes painted (pick your colors).

i prefer vintages to remain pure myself. i get queasy watching barret jackson actions when a "custom" rolls onto the stage. i think to myself, well some clown ruined that 68 chevelle.
