Hi,

I've got an older Zeiss diavari 1.5x-6x ZA scope. I was wondering if anyone had dealt with Zeiss with regards to having these older scopes fixed/refurbished. I'd mainly like to have it repainted/remarked. Also does anyone know where I might find the external windage/elevation cams the older Zeiss scopes had (currently it has an elevation bdc but not windage)

Zeiss sells the Windage turret so you can get it from them.

I have no experience from Zeiss refurbishing so I can't give you any answer there.

Do you know if the newer turrets will work with the old style scopes? (it has 2 screws)

Newer turrets don't work with older scopes, but they have different models of turrets so I belive they also have a version for the ZA.

Yes one of the israeli contract scopes. Its beat to crap, but the glass is ok and mechanically it seems to work. The pic on the website is very far away from reality, plus he never got back to me about returns.

Yep that would be the guy. The pic he has on his site is of a nice fairly undamaged scope. What I got is dented, with alot of finsih and markings missing. When I emailed him about a return he never got back to me.

I dealt with him for a little bit when he just appeared on US market, and he was a prety reasonable guy to do business with at the time.  However, since then he nearly doubled his prices and became less responsive.

I'd be surprised if Zeiss USA will have anything to do with this scope, since as far as they are concerned it is a grey market product and is not warrantied.  They do tend to take care of their customers though, so it may be worth a shot.

Yeah, Zeiss finally got back to me. It will be sent to germany to get looked at and they will send me a quote to put on turrets and fix it up, though its looking expensive.

Essentially I would like it to be a decent copy of the G3SG-1 issue scope. My impression was that the israeli scopes were made later and had better glass, but unfortunately no windage BDC knob.
