I've bumped into a few reports of folks preferring the older lock ring style eyepiece over the new style.  Does anyone wish to comment?

I'm in the market for a new or nearly new scope for a 223.

I'm referring to the VX-2 style fast focus ocular.

I never had problems before with the lock rings. Now that I have been in progressive lens glasses for several years and now multi-focal contacts for six months, I only want fast focus. The difference between glasses, contacts and neither makes life easier with fast focus.

I never had issues with the older lock ring styles (even while wearing progressive lenses).
