What is a scope like this worth and is as good as some of the other high end stuff around today?? Had someone tell me that it is not that great ??? The glass seems perfect and seems to be great at low light??Trying to figure out is this guy just talking junk about something he knows nothing about. Thanks for any comments.

All I could really suggest would be to compare it to some of the brighter scopes on the market today and see where it stands. I'm not an authority on the older S&B's but the earlier ones weren't waterproof or sealed at the turrets so the caps must be on and tight when hunting in rain. If the lens coating have been taken care of it should still hold its own with better quality scopes.

I'm thinking you hold onto it, old or not it's a good scope. The optics of today are better than they were, but you have a good scope that may well be worth something extra to collectors of older optics. I'd contact S&B and see if they can run the SN, and give any extra info.
