anyone here try this setup?
primary optic being say a 3-9 with a MRD (whatever type) at the offset position on the forend using a Daniel Defense 1 o'clock which puts it at a 20 degree angle to the top rail or a 45 degree offset mount like several companies make

I understand the thinking behind it, having a bigger scope and then the ability to roll over the gun into using the MRD for close targets

I know it's fairly popular in 3 gun, I have an interest for hunting
an Accupoint 3-9 as my primary optic on my 6.8 with a MRD at the 1 oclock for close stuff

I have an ar-15 in 6.5 Grendel with a 16 inch barrel, that has a Nikon 3-9x40 on it and a Dr. Optics MRD set at the 2 o'clock position on a YHM custumizable handguard. It is a real neat set up. I use it for hunting deer in Northern MN. I can make long shots and just rotate the rifle a tad bit to the left and make the close on the move shots using the Docter Optics MRD. I have pictures and I will post them later today.
