We had an unexpected guest visit the office today. He is an 11 week old Black Bear Cub. and growing fast.

He is so cute.......At least for now. He was dropped off at the pet rescue my shooting buddy does volunteer work at. He will have him on Tuesdays until it is able to feed itself. The bear is still on a bottle for now. Has to be fed every 2 hrs. No wonder Mama bears are grouchy!

Any Idea how it came to the rescue (abandoned by mom or illegal pet) and what will happen to it?

Look at those paws and claws!

I did not get much of a background story. I was more into the touchy-feely getting to handle a live bear. Sorry.

Pretty neat.  Every 2 hours for feeding?  Makes sense with how much they have to grow in order to survive.

I called Clint about how they got the bear. It was dropped off with the paperwork to make the bear legal. The cub is fed baby formula at this time. The is funny th watch the cub play and run then just drop over, slide to a stop sound asleep.

I bet thats very cool indeed.  I've helped raise baby deer but never been around a bear cub.  How long do you have to keep him before they require to be release back to the wild.

Safaris website does not say where it is from. They are just asking for help.
I will not see him again until next Tuesday.

Very cool.  Would be fun to have an opportunity to help and work with wildlife like that.
