I did my final load load check and scope adjustment today. I did a case neck re-size only, without the expander. After pushing the necks back to size, I then attached the case neck expander and pushed it into the case, rather then the pulling effect when doing a resize and expansion in one operation.
I adjusted the POI from previos tests. It was raining, as can be seen from the condition of the target. Left bullet hole is two bullets. My grouping would have been smaller if it were not for Dale insisting on a 5 shot grouping. It is ALLWAYS that 5th shot that opens it up.
Anyway, I am happy to say I am good to go for the hunting season, with my first hunt booked for the 26 may 2008.
I will bring back lots of pics and hopefully some nice trophies.

Can't wait for trophy pics, 8-shots!
Kudu? Or some of the smaller antelope?
Remember to wear safety glasses in case the Gamekings bounce off the hides!

Good luck on your hunt, 8, and be sure to post plenty of pics when you return. Maybe some day, I'll be able to settle the crosshairs on the shoulder of a beautiful Kudu!

I am going for gemsbuck and impala. If a kudu happen to make a mistake, it will also be on the menu. At the correct angle, and the right formula, the Sierras will only be boucing around in their rib-cage!
With 8 shots and some lights the gemsbuck will look like a pinball machine. Edited by 8shots - May/04/2008 at 12:55 |

Kudu biltong or jerky, must rank as the top.
For steaks etc, Eland is the best, but expensive to hunt. So kudu, springbuck and hartebeest is probably mostly on the menu.
For exotic tastes warthog and bushpig will be on top of the list.

8shots dont forget to put Gemsuck on your list of tasty critters, I prefer it over Kudu and Springbuck by far. I also think Eland is probably the best if you want to slap a couple of steaks on the braai (barbeque) as it tends to have more fat on it. If you have someone who cooks a lot with game, they can turn out some really tasty dishes. If you guys ever get the chance to try Hippo, eat it I was quite shocked at how good it was. Only ate the biltong and what we call wors, that's a tipe of sausage that you throw on the barbeque Delicious.
Regards Chris
