I own a Nightforce NXS 5.5X22X50 and am considering adding a 2.5X10X42 NXS with the IHR reticle and Digillum option to another rifle. Where I hunt and how I hunt, you have to have a scope that lets you hunt the edge of darkness. How much twilight time do I lose with the smaller 42mm objective over the larger 50mm. I also use the rifle on targets to 600yds,

It would depend on latitude, weather, topography, direction, trees, target, background, your eye, how long your eye has had to adapt to the dark, and some other things.
On the Southwest plains, aiming east out in the open under a clear sky, it might be a minute or two. In Northern Washington, on a dark afternoon, in a canyon under trees, it could be a lot longer.
A couple years ago I compared a 32mm Leupold VX3 against a 50mm Nitrex, starting before sundown. There was a 20 minute difference between those two scope, on that day.
