I have an older t/c going to get a new barrel in 223 @20/22"need a scope ..use will be the usual .coyotes, cat's and what ever else gets in the way, looking at weaver v-16 burris 4.5x14
don't got to be fancy its just a shooter...$300 ish.

 rifle configuration? You would be hard pressed to beat the B-plex on the Burris you mentioned It works great with the .223 55gn. The Ballistic dots do not interfere as much with the sight picture. The glass gives crisp detail. Had a strap break on my friends bikini cover. We called and Burris CS sent another cover at no charge. My experiance with Burris CS has been very good.

Yes I have a burris 2x7 and I like it as well I use 50gr. nosler bt and midsouth in 50gr as well how would the bplx do with these if you could .

I currently have a vari-x-2..... 4x12x40....im guessing or thinking the burris-2....4.5x14/or the weav 4x16-v series would be an upgrade to the leup....I sent this scope back ,they replaced the lenses but I still don't like it?

How about a fixed power?  For $300 Super Sniper 10x42 is as good as it gets.

If you want a variable, take a look at Sightron S2 4.5-14x42 or 4-16x42 (both in mid 300s for the non-Big Sky models and are quite good).
