Anyone here use Norma powder? Having a hard time finding Varget, R15 or any of the well known powders common to .308. In particular, I was looking at Norma 202, as it can be found on-line.

Thanx

I've used Norma powders since the 70's and Norma N-201 may have been the first can of powder I ever bought. Norma rifle powders are double- based and made by Bofors. A few Norma powders are duplicated by other brands. For instance, Reloder 22 is alleged to be the same as Norma MRP. Norma N-201 has no equivalent that I know of.

Just like with any other powder, there will be some loads in some calibers which are the ne plus ultra and some loads that are just ok. N-202 is very versatile in  any caliber which might use Varget, such as .308, .223 or .30-06.

Western powders, the US purveyors of Accurate and Ramshot powders, have taken over as US importers, so we may finally start seeing better US availability. Norma has always been on the rare side and therefore, somewhat exotic. While Norma powders are now packaged in the familiar black plastic jugs, I've always been a sucker for those red cans.

Hey tejas, I forgot to ask... where did you find N-202?

Thanks for the info. Think I'll order some and give it a try. Don't want to post a link here so I'll PM it to you.
I found some reload data on Norma's website. Wonder if its worth ordering their manual?

I heard Norma 203B is nearly identical to Reloder 15.

It's pretty close, seems to be in the ballpark with Varget, RL15 and N140 oh, and 2520- have you tried any of that?.  Everything I've said about powder equivalents is from web talk only as I've never talked to Norma, or Alliant. Western Powders might have some answers, now.

I shoot a lot of RL15 underneath Hrn 75gr BTHP. It is more temperature sensitive than Varget or H4895, which work with that bullet. I shoot N-203B when I can find it, since it works so well with many loads. We never used to worry about this or that powder being temp sensitive, did we? They all are, to a point and who cares? Life's too short...

I agree with that last statement. Ive said before that I use a lot of N150, which is supposed to be very temp sensitive, but... I have never noticed a big difference in performance with varying temperatures. Maybe I will this winter with the colder temperatures but we'll see. Ive noticed that if I let my loaded cases sit in the sun for a while and heat up, my bullets impact higher. But wouldn't this happen with any powder, even if it is said not to be temperature sensitive?
