Good Afternoon Guys,

I just received my Bobro Precision Optic Mount - 30mm in the mail to day for my NightForce Compact NXS 2.5-10x32. The instructions for mounting the optic aren't very clear, so I thought I could look to you guys for help before I use the red locktite. What method should I use and what tools will be needed?

Very Respectfully,

PAUL

My advice is don't use red lock tite period.  I didn't use any lock tite on any of my bobros and they have been just fine.

Okay. Well other than that the instructions were a bit weird. Should I go and buy a  torque wrench?

18 to 20 in /lb
http://swfa.com/Borka-Tools-MG7-Multi-Torque-Driver-Kit-P59403.aspx this is the really fancy tool kit.
This might be a nice torque wrench to own:

This is what I use most of the time to install rings but you can not adjust this wrench. The point of a  torgue wrench is that it should not let you over tighten and crush the scope tube. The problem is that each manufacturer had different torque specs.

The pamphlet that comes with the Bobro says 14-20 pounds for internal drive nuts, so I don't think that the  one you use will be viable.

I have a wheeler fat wrench, its similar to the weaver one mentioned above. it gets the job done, its adjustable from 1-65in/lbs, I have zero complaints, it has served me well for many years

if i had the money i would get the borka though.

I have the Wheeler and the Borka... both work just fine.  The Borka stays in my field bag, the Wheeler does most of my bench work.   Never a problem with either...

Really? I always thought everyone used Loctite on their mounts. I too have the Bobro 30mm scope mount on the way. I will refrain from using the loctite if that is what is suggested.

I have never used loctite,  I swap scopes to much to make it hard to do.  Never had one come loose or a screw loosen either.

I never use lock tite either.  Using blue would be fine, but red would not be a good choice if you want to take it off again.
