I understand what it means but is it more of an advertising slogan than a real advantage? I have two Leupolds and have always enjoyed not having to adjust my cheek for a perfect view when shouldering the gun fast.I'm trying to decide between the Leupold VX3 3.5-10x40 and the Zeiss Conquest 3X9X40. I have looked at the Zeiss but not mounted on my gun and I don't really remember how critical the eye relief was. Is this a stat that can be measured and how does the Leup and Zeiss compare?

I appreciate the help.I live in a small town and have to drive over an hour even to look and compare scopes.Even then there are few choices to compare.

Eye relief of the Conquest is non critical.  Very forgiving.  I, personally, like Conquest better than Leupold.

Yes,I thought the eye relief on the Conquest was non critical as well. Leupold though advertises non critical eye relief where I don't see other scope manufacturers make that claim. This is why I ask if it is more of an advertising slogan with them or do they have the best non critical eye relief in the business.

I know it has to do with the eye box but I don't really understand what that means and how to measure non critical eye relief other than trying to compare two scopes in hand.
